A drummer and producer certified in Music Production by the Catalyst Institute, Alex splits his time between the studio, working with songwriters and filmmakers, and the stage with Auger.

Between tours, Alex is the drum teacher in Berlin our Bandclass drummers look up to. Feeling the music and playing it your own way comes before virtuosic shredding, and the pure joy of playing runs through every session.

Drum lessons for kids from 7

From age 7, kids learn drums in a real band, guided by a rockstar mentor who tours. Weekly 45-minute sessions alternate between instrument lessons and band jams, and every Bandclass® season ends on a real stage. No experience and no own drum kit needed.

Drum lessons for adults

Adults start in a band of their own level from day one, in evening sessions after work. The focus is on real songs and holding the groove together, not on exercises. Beginners and returners are equally welcome.

Do I need my own drum kit?

No. Professional kits are set up and ready at our drum school in Berlin-Mitte. For home, a practice pad and a pair of sticks cover the first months, and your mentor will tell you when it is time for more.

From what age can kids learn drums?

Bandclass Kids takes drummers from 7 to 17. Mini Rockers (ages 4 to 6) builds rhythm playfully before your kid moves to the full kit.

Is drumming too loud to practice at home?

Most families practice on a quiet pad or an e-kit with headphones. The loud part happens at our studio. That is the point.

Are drum lessons available in English?

Yes. We run drum lessons in English in Berlin as standard: mentors teach in English, German or both, switching mid-song if needed.

Can complete beginners start?

Yes. Beginner drum lessons in Berlin are our home turf: no experience needed, all equipment provided, and you play real songs from the first session.

Where is Rock Academy and how do we get there?

At Invalidenstraße 117 in Berlin-Mitte, right at S Nordbahnhof and U Naturkundemuseum, in the Chausseekiez (Oranienburger Vorstadt). From Torstraße, Brunnenkiez and the Scheunenviertel it's a 10 to 15 minute walk; from Arkonaplatz, Mauerpark and Kollwitzkiez the M10 gets you here in under ten minutes, and from Hauptbahnhof it's three tram stops.

What does it cost?

Bandclass® is 219€ per 4 weeks, or 199€ per month on the 3-month plan. The trial session is 20€ and is credited to your first month. Rehearsal space, instruments and the live shows are included.

How long is a session, and how often?

Once a week, 45 minutes, in a fixed band slot. Sessions alternate between instrument lessons and band jams, and every Bandclass® season ends at a real show. Your trial time becomes your weekly slot.
